Via Afrika Social Sciences Grade 8 Learner’s Book is a CAPS-aligned Social Sciences textbook designed to build on Grade 7 knowledge and further develop learners’ understanding of Geography and History.

The book is divided into two sections. The Geography section covers topics such as population growth, resources, development, environmental issues, and settlement patterns. The History section explores early modern societies, colonisation, world historical developments, and how different societies changed over time.

The content is structured with clear explanations, maps, timelines, diagrams, activities, and source-based questions that help learners develop interpretation and analytical skills. It encourages critical thinking, inquiry, and basic research skills.
