Via Afrika Natural Sciences Grade 8 Learner’s Book is a CAPS-aligned Natural Sciences textbook designed to develop Senior Phase learners’ understanding of scientific concepts and investigative skills.

The book builds on Grade 7 and covers key topics such as living systems (cells, tissues, organs and systems), matter and materials (atoms, elements, compounds and chemical reactions), energy transfer, electricity, the Earth and beyond, and structured scientific investigations. It helps learners make connections between scientific theory and real-world applications.

The content is presented in a clear and structured format with diagrams, explanations, activities, and practical investigations that encourage observation, experimentation, and critical thinking. It also strengthens scientific process skills such as hypothesis testing, data collection, and interpretation.
