Via Afrika Creative Arts Grade 8 Learner’s Book is a CAPS-aligned Creative Arts textbook designed to develop Grade 8 learners’ creativity, performance skills, and artistic understanding in the Senior Phase.

The book builds on Grade 7 foundations and introduces more advanced concepts across the four main strands of Creative Arts: drama, music, dance, and visual arts. Learners explore character development, storytelling, rhythm, musical elements, movement and choreography, as well as visual composition, colour, and design principles.

It uses structured, practical activities and projects to encourage creative expression, teamwork, and critical thinking. Learners are guided to plan, create, perform, and reflect on their artistic work in a variety of contexts.

The book is widely used in South African schools for classroom teaching, practical activities, and assessment, and it supports learners in developing a stronger foundation for Creative Arts in Grade 9 and beyond.
